Overview

Dentro de los Valles Calchaquíes se encuentra la ciudad de Tafí del Valle, en el noroeste de Argentina. Está rodeada de altas montañas con senderos, se ubica en el centro del Valle de Tafí en provincia de Tucumán, a 126 km de la capital provincial.

En esta excursión conoceremos el Sitio Jesuítico de San José de Lules, Quebrada de Los Sosa, Los Menhires y Tafí del Valle. Visitaremos el Convento Jesuítico de San José de Lules donde se conservan la capilla y el claustro.

Comenzaremos la excursión por la Ruta 307. La cual marca el ascenso a los Valles, que se caracterizan por sus impolutos colores verde y marrón, acompañados del azul intenso del cielo. El camino hacia los valles, se interna en la Quebrada del Río Los Sosa, que atraviesa la Reserva Natural del mismo nombre. La Yunga deslumbra e invita a detenerse. Continuando, avistamos el monumento “El Indio”, que es una escultura de 6 metros, también conocida como El Chasqui.

Más arriba, la entrada al Valle de Tafí es simplemente impactante. Rodeando el embalse La Angostura llegaremos a El Mollar para visitar Los Menhires. Tafí del Valle se encuentra a 2.000m.  Aquí se conserva el Conjunto Jesuítico de La Banda, cuyo sector más antiguo fue levantado por los Jesuitas en la primera mitad del siglo XVIII.

Luego tendremos tiempo libre para almorzar, tomar un breve descanso y disfrutar de Tafí del Valle. Entre los sabores típicos que podemos degustar en este pueblo, encontramos locro, tamales, humita, chanfaina, estafados, puchero y tortillas con chicharrón, y muchas otras opciones.

Una vez hecho esto, continuamos camino por la RP 307 hasta alcanzar el mirador desde el cual se obtienen las mejores vistas panorámicas del valle.

Observaciones:

  • Menores: Niños hasta 3 años cumplidos free. Desde 4 años cumplidos a 6 años cumplidos abona tarifa “niños”. A partir de 7 años abona tarifa “adulto”.

Seguimos camino por la Quebrada del Río Los Sosa. Nos detenemos a admirar La Yunga y avistamos el monumento “El Indio".

El Mollar

Llegamos a El Mollar para visitar Los Menhires.

Almuerzo

Disfrutamos del almuerzo y tomamos un descanso.

Mirador

Luego del almuerzo, continuamos camino por la RP 307 hasta alcanzar el mirador desde el cual se obtienen las mejores vistas del valle.

16.30 hs - Regreso

A la hora indicada emprendemos el viaje de regreso a Tucumán.
