Overview

Para conocer las Ruinas de San Ignacio, realizaremos un recorrido total de 480 Km. (ida y vuelta) por la Ruta Nacional Nº 12. Disfrutaremos el paisaje de la región, pasando por pequeñas ciudades, pueblos y plantaciones. Llegaremos así, a las imponentes Ruinas Jesuíticas (ubicadas a 240 km. de la ciudad de Puerto Iguazú). Fueron construidas en el siglo XVII, durante la permanencia de los Misioneros Jesuitas en esta región.

En la actualidad San Ignacio Miní es la mejor conservada de las misiones jesuíticas de los siglos XVI y XVII en territorio argentino. Fue fundada por el padre jesuita San Roque González de Santa Cruz para envangelizar a los nativos guaraníes. 

Alrededor de una plaza central se distribuyen la iglesia, la Casa de los Padres, el cementerio, las viviendas y el cabildo. En la construcción de San Ignacio se empleó la piedra local, el asperón rojo, en grandes piezas.

A su vez, la ciudad de San Ignacio es un centro turístico con paisajes apasionantes como el Peñón del Teyú Cuaré, el río Yabebirí y bellezas naturales desperdigadas en toda su extensión, enmarcado en la majestuosa flora autóctona que se cuela por cada rincón.

Haremos la visita acompañados por un guía local, que nos explicará la construcción, la vida y las costumbres de los aborígenes guaraníes y la catequización de los mismos por los Jesuitas.

En el trayecto visitaremos las Minas de Piedras Preciosas en la ciudad de Wanda. Encontraremos variedades de cuarzo halladas en estos yacimientos, principalmente ágata, amatista y jaspe que constituyen ejemplares de excepcional belleza. El recorrido por túneles y pequeñas galerías labradas en la roca volcánica nos permite, en algunos establecimientos, apreciar la yacencia original de estos valorados minerales e interpretar los procesos que les dieron origen.

Al finalizar el recorrido, emprendemos el viaje de regreso, finalizando así la excursión a Ruinas de San Ignacio.

Recomendaciones:

  • Llevar repelente de insectos, zapatillas y ropa cómoda.

Observaciones:

  •  Menores: Hasta de 3 años no abona con 2 pagantes, sin derecho asiento.  A partir de 4 años cumplidos abonan tarifa “niños”. Consultar.
  • Salidas únicamente desde Iguazú. No incluye salidas desde hoteles ubicados en Zona de Granja, Barrio Belén, Barrio Santa Rosa, Barrio Orquídeas, fuera del ejido hotelero.

A la hora indicada nuestro guía pasará a buscarlo por el hotel para comenzar con la excursión.

Durante el día

Al llegar a las ruinas, haremos la visita acompañados por un guía local, que nos explicará la construcción, la vida y las costumbres de los aborígenes guaraníes y la catequización de los mismos por los Jesuitas.
