Overview

“Sólo Ballenas” es una excursión que se concentra exclusivamente en la imponente Ballena Franca Austral (Eubalaena Australis). Es un animal de gran tamaño que puede medir hasta 17 metros y puede pesar hasta 40 toneladas. La Península Valdés es uno de los pocos lugares  en el mundo donde se las puede ver en su hábitat natural. Cabe mencionar que llega a nuestras costas cada año para el ciclo reproductivo.

En horas de la mañana partimos de Puerto Madryn hacia Península Valdés. Ésta es una reserva de la naturaleza patagónica situada en la costa de Argentina. Fue incorporada por la Unesco como Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 1999. Y en ella podemos encontrar animales marinos que habitan en el mar y las playas circundantes, como por ejemplo elefantes marinos, ballenas y lobos marinos.

El avistaje a bordo de embarcaciones se realiza únicamente desde la localidad de Puerto Pirámides por operadores habilitados. Durante la excursión, estarán acompañados por un guía ballenero con vasta experiencia y conocimiento para garantizar un avistaje responsable.

AVISTAJE TRADICIONAL

El programa regular es una excursión de una hora y media de duración en aguas del Golfo Nuevo para el avistaje de ballenas francas australes. El punto de partida es Puerto Pirámides desde el cual la embarcación se desplazará en un radio de 10 millas, dependiendo de la posición de los animales. Durante el paseo náutico, además de disfrutar de hermosos paisajes costeros, se podrá, a partir de la primavera, contemplar lobos marinos en sus apostaderos y especies de aves típicas del litoral patagónico.

El avistaje de las ballenas se realiza embarcando desde Puerto Pirámides. Las empresas autorizadas por la Provincia para hacerlo toman todos los recaudos necesarios para que esta actividad no genere impacto ambiental y no altere el comportamiento de las ballenas.

El recorrido comienza bordeando la costa en distintas direcciones, para luego dirigirse una o dos millas mar adentro, al encuentro de las ballenas francas australes.

La primera parada se hace por lo general en La Lobería que se encuentra perpendicular a Puerto Pirámides.La navegación para el avistaje a lo largo de la costa permite también observar varias colonias de cormoranes y otros ejemplares de avifauna costera.

Luego la embarcación se aleja de la costa, se paran los motores y por un momento reina un silencio cortado sólo por los sonidos mezclados de las gaviotas, los gaviotines y los cormoranes. Es un momento de espera… Alguien observa a lo lejos una gran concentración de aves. La lancha se acerca y de pronto, cuando todo el grupo está atento, algo plateado y blanco emerge al lado del barco, y se escucha el fuerte ruido de un cuerpo moviendose la superficie del mar…

Menores: A partir de 4 años a 11 años cumplidos abonan tarifa “niños” . Menores de 0 a 3 años cumplidos no abonan.
