Overview

San Carlos de Bariloche is a city in the Patagonia region of Argentina. It borders Nahuel Huapi, a large glacial lake surrounded by the Andes Mountains. Bariloche is known for its Swiss alpine-style architecture and chocolate. It is also a popular base for hiking and skiing in the nearby mountains, and for exploring the surrounding Lake District. Escape to San Carlos de Bariloche is a proposal to get to know the main attractions of this charming city.

We will start the first day of the excursion with Circuito Chico, one of the most traditional tours in Bariloche. It includes a tour that starts in the city of Bariloche and heads west of the city along Bustillo Avenue bordering the Nahuel Huapi Lake and at Km. 8 is Playa Bonita, from there you can see the Huemul Island.

At Km. 17 you arrive at the foot of Cerro Campanario, where there is an Aerosilla that takes people to the summit (1050m) from where you can appreciate one of the most beautiful views of the region. Following Bustillo Avenue passing the area of the San Pedro peninsula at Km. 25 you reach the area of Llao Llao. There you will find the San Eduardo Chapel, a regional architectural jewel, and on the Nahuel Huapi Lake, the Pañuelo port from where the excursions that sail the Nahuel Huapi Lake depart.

Afterwards, we arrive at the Panoramic Point from where we have a privileged view of the Llao Llao peninsula and the lakes that surround it. Then we arrive at the bridge that crosses Lake Moreno in its narrowing and begins to skirt the Laguna El Trébol. Further on, 2 km away, you will find the junction with Bustillo Avenue, where you will return to the city, ending this excursion.
The following day we will make the Puerto Blest and Cascada de los Cántaros excursion, leaving from Puerto pañuelo in a boat that sails over the waters of the Blest arm to its end, where the port of the same name is located.

On this trip we pass very close to the sentinel islet, where the remains of the Perito Moreno rest. The landscape along the Blest arm resembles the classic Norwegian fjords or the distant Fuegian channels.
The area of Puerto Blest has an exuberant vegetation, due to its excessively humid climate, from there you can continue by bus to make the additional excursion to Laguna Frias. Then you arrive at Puerto Alegre, at the northern end of the lagoon, where you take a boat to go around it, until you dock at Puerto Frias.

Returning to Puerto Blest, embark to make the crossing to the Cascada los Cántaros. We climb up a wooden staircase along the Los Cántaros torrent to an approximate height of 600 meters, from where we can admire several waterfalls and cascades of remarkable beauty.

A getaway to San Carlos de Bariloche to relax and enjoy!
