El Calafate is a city near the edge of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in the Argentinean province of Santa Cruz. Because of the spectacular view offered by the Perito Moreno Glacier, eighth wonder of the world, inside Los Glaciares National Park, whose dynamic ice landscape is popular for hiking and tourism. The imposing mass of endless ice surrounded by forests and mountains is a spectacle that few want to miss.
This trip will include the This is an unmissable excursion that will take you 80 km from El Calafate to the footbridge area in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier to observe its magnitude and power. At the beginning of the trip you will be able to appreciate the Argentino Lake as well as its Bahía Redonda. In the first 50 km the landscape is dominated by the Patagonian steppe and inside the National Park the arboreal vegetation predominates. The footbridges have an extension of 5 km and are constituted by stairs that descend until approaching to 300 meters of the front of the glacier. At 146 meters from the access to the walkways is the Main Balcony, from where you can appreciate a breathtaking view and observe the north and south walls, as well as the glacier's endicamiento zone.
From each of the remaining balconies distributed along the steps you can appreciate the majesty of this ice giant. The gradual breaking and subsequent leveling of the waters is a moving spectacle, unique in the world, which is repeated every three or four years.
A halo of infinite peace on the virgin nature, makes it a great attraction for those who want to enjoy the pure air and the sound of silence. This sound is interrupted only by the movement of the glacier, which constantly gives immense blocks of ice to Lake Argentino. These, when detached from the ablation socket, fall into the Canal de los Témpanos producing a deep and shocking roar.
Another day we will make a full day excursion to El Chaltén! The excursion starts with a pick up at the hotels in Calafate, where we will be accompanied by our bilingual guide and start our way to the town of El Chaltén.

Once in El Chaltén, we will be welcomed by the park rangers of the National Park reminding us about the care we must take and respect in this protected natural area.
Walking (during 1 hs) we will arrive at the Los Cóndores viewpointwith a panoramic view of the town and the Fitz Roy mountain, overflown by condors.
At lunchtime, the service includes: a two-step lunch at the renowned Restaurant Rancho Grande of El Chaltén.
Finally, our guide will accompany us (on a 30 min walk) towards the Chorrillo del Salto, a natural waterfall 20 m high, running through an area of native hillside forest, which invites you to take a break.
At around 4:00 p.m. we start our return to El Calafate arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, a car will pick you up at the airport or terminal to the hotel of your choice.

The excursion begins with pick up at the hotels in Calafate, where we will be accompanied by our bilingual guide and start our way to the town of El Chaltén. Once there, our first destination will be Lake Argentino, the largest and southernmost of the Patagonian lakes. Then we will visit the emblematic Parador La Leona, historical and cultural heritage. Finally we will visit the Mirador del Lago Viedma, an ideal panoramic point for those who enjoy photography.
After a walk of about an hour, we will arrive at the Mirador de Los Cóndores, with a panoramic view of the town and Mount Fitz Roy. At lunchtime, we will have lunch at the renowned Rancho Grande Restaurant in El Chaltén.
Finally, our guide will accompany us to the Chorrillo del Salto, a natural waterfall of 20 meters high, crossing an area of native hillside forest, which will undoubtedly leave you amazed.
Around 4:00 p.m. we will start our return to El Calafate to rest after a day full of adventures.
